This tastefully restored 3-bedroom home offers a perfect holiday cottage and investment property, a few minutes cycle or car ride from the beaches and mountains. Delfryn is also suited to a couple or family wishing to relocate to beautiful North Pembrokeshire who want to enjoy affordable country and coastal living straight away without the hassle and cost of renovation or decoration.

This property was extensively refurbished to a high quality during 2005. Natural products have been used to complement the original features and character of this traditional cottage. Real slate and oak flooring, Fired Earth tiles and a newly fitted wood-burning stove enhance the traditional character of the ground floor. Upstairs, an interior designer has chosen luxury quality wool carpets and tongue-and-groove paneling to recreate the ambience of a “New England style” coastal cottage. A low maintenance garden has been designed and created by a local radio gardening expert and enclosed with a new gate and fencing.

Delfryn is double-glazed and uses oil-fired central heating.

Location:
Delfryn is opposite the parish church of St Giles in the small village of Letterston-

Halfway between Fishguard and Haverfordwest.  Letterston’s  location alongside the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park border brings all the benefits of easy access to the National Park without the severe restrictions and additional costs placed upon property purchasers and owners who have homes within the Park Authority area.

Delfryn offers easy access to North Pembrokeshire’s  breathtaking beaches, wildlife, outdoor activities and stunning scenery of the Preseli mountains.

  • Priskilly Golf Course is 4 minutes away.

  • The beach at Abermawr is just 10 minutes drive.

  • The beautiful Cwm Gwaun Valley is 10 minutes away.

  • The picturesque Porthgain Harbour is just 15 minutes away.

  • The sandy, surfing beach of Whitesands is just 20 minutes in the car.

  • The breathtaking scenery of the Strumble Head walk is 10 minutes away.

  • The cafes, restaurants and bars in the picturesque city of St Davids are under a 20-minute drive away.

Access:
The main A40 road is just 2 minutes drive from the cottage and leads directly to the A48 and M4 motorway. The AA estimates an average driving time of 1 hour 58 minutes between Letterston and Cardiff City Centre. This journey length will be reduced further with the planned upgrade of the A40 west of St Clears.  As the A40 is a trunk road it is given priority clearance in bad weather so Letterston doesn’t face the difficulties that many of the more isolated Pembrokeshire villages experience in snow or after winter storms. Letterston is particularly popular amongst Haverfordwest commuters who can enjoy country living with views and walks across fields and mountains but with just a 10 minute drive to the shops and services of the County Town. Fishguard, ten minutes to the north, offers fine restaurants, art galleries and craft shops. A multi-million pound marina development is planned there. A 90-minute ferry service departs for Ireland from the town.

The Village:
There’s a range of amenities within a few minutes walk from Delfryn including the famous “Something’s Cooking”. This licenced restaurant regularly wins national awards. The Harp Inn is popular, particularly for Sunday lunches.  The village also has a butcher, baker, post office and two well-stocked grocery stores, one of which is attached to a late opening filling station. Letterston’s school, a few minutes walk from the cottage, has achieved impressive Grade 1 and Grade 2 marks in its school inspection.

The Detail:
Delfryn is Freehold.
